You’ll need a current version* of the Skydiver’s Information Manual (SIM), and an Instructional Rating Manual, (IRM). These may be purchased from your local gear store or from the USPA store @ (540) 604-9740 or online @ *no older than 24 months*

Prior to the course all candidates should study the IAD-Static Line Instructor Rating Course section found in the IRM paying special attention to the Static Line information. One of the requirements is to complete a 40 question written exam. This is broken into two parts, the 25 question General Instructor exam and the 15 question Static Line Instructor exam. These can be found in the back of the book and are open book exams.

You’ll need a passing score of at least 80%. All answers can be found in either the IRM or SIM.
